2020 Show Update
The Committee have taken the difficult decision not to have our usual annual show on Lemon Quay this year. Instead, of the show, the Society will pursue a prime stock sale at Truro Market on Wednesday 2nd December by kind permission of Lodge and Thomas. In making this decision, the Committee feel it is important for it to try and support the local Christmas prime stock trade.
It is intended that there would be a limited number of classes, restricted to only Cornish entries. Cattle will be judged in the pens but not shown. We intend to have sheep classes on the same basis too. The sale obviously depends on exhibitors being willing to bring their stock forward, and circumstances permitting the sale to take place. Obviously there will be no domestic sections or produce sections. We will write to past livestock exhibitors shortly with more information and to gauge levels of interest. The sale will be a closed event with no public participation but we will aim to record it for the web site, together with the judges’ explanation.
Separately to the sale at the market, the Committee will continue to work with the City Council, Cornwall Council and the BID to explore the possibility of an exhibition and/or craft fair on Lemon Quay, and we will provide more information as soon as we can.
Sadly there will be no craft fair this year.
