Truro Primestock Show brings farming to the city

Truro’s Annual Christmas Primestock Show is held in a marquee on Lemon Quay in the City Centre on the first Wednesday in December and is a favourite with farmers, country folk and townspeople alike.

A very popular event which brings the countryside and farming right into the heart of the City and it is believed to be the only Primestock Show in Britain to be held in the centre of a city, making the Truro Show a unique event.

The 2021 Show will be held on 1st December. However, due to the ongoing situation things will still be different to usual. The City Council are unable to have the usual marquee on Lemon Quay, and it is not economic or practical for us to hire our own just for a few days. However, we will be able to have a small domestic display and show of farm crops. Unfortunately, there will not be a domestic section this year. It is hoped that the judging and sale of livestock will be held at Truro Livestock Market. There will also be a carcass class judged at RJ Trevarthen. Further details, schedules and entry forms for the commercial crops, livestock and carcasses will be published on the website in mid September. ... See MoreSee Less
