Truro Primestock Show brings farming to the city

Truro’s Annual Christmas Primestock Show is a very popular event, which has historically brought countryside and farming right into the heart of the City and was believed to be the only Primestock Show in Britain to be regularly held in the centre of a city.

Times have changed and we now hold the Show at the Truro Livestock centre; this has enabled us to showcase the livestock by using the facilities of the market for the lairage of the cattle and sheep and showing them in an adjoining marquee, which is also used for the display of farm produce, an area for educational activities as well as a hospitality area.

The domestic section is held in one of the enclosed  Lodge and Thomas buildings which provides a dry and warm area to display all of the various exhibits that have been entered.
